Meet the Founder, Laura Hogan

My name is Laura Hogan, owner and founder of The Shattered Ceiling. Our mission is simple: to give women access to affordable suit rentals that deliver confidence, power, and presence — without the waste.

My journey to The Shattered Ceiling began long before my first full-time job. It started at a Texas A&M career fair. The night before, I scrambled for an outfit, rushed through the mall, and came up empty-handed. I ended up borrowing an ill-fitting suit and walked into the fair feeling out of place and underprepared.

By the next one, my mom helped me invest in a few-hundred-dollar suit. It gave me confidence — but it was rarely worn and quickly outgrown.

Fast forward to my professional career. Day to day, I lived in business casual. But for big presentations, interviews, or conferences, I was back in the same cycle: spending hundreds on suits I’d rarely wear and eventually outgrow. Postpartum made it even more obvious — women’s professional workwear isn’t built to match the pace of our lives.

That’s when I realized I couldn’t be the only woman facing this. Why should women have to choose between feeling confident in the room and draining their bank account on outfits that gather dust?

I created The Shattered Ceiling to change that. We provide professional women’s workwear rentals through a flexible model that works for real life. From blazers to dresses, from the perfect interview outfit rental to everyday office wear, our goal is to make high quality workwear for women accessible, empowering, and sustainable.
